Head of IT

Responsibilities & Context

• Develop and implement the overall IT strategy in alignment with business goals.
• Analyze business processes within merchandising, sourcing, quality, compliance, finance, and logistics to recommend technology-driven improvements.
• Identify new technology initiatives that add value and eliminate redundant or non-value-adding systems.
• Lead digital transformation projects including ERP optimization, data analytics, automation, and AI integration.
• Evaluate and implement AI solutions in forecasting, demand planning, quality control, production tracking, document automation, and reporting.
• Ensure cybersecurity, data protection, and system reliability.
• Manage IT budgets, vendor relationships, and infrastructure investments.
• Advise top management on IT investments with strong justification and ROI analysis.
• Build and lead a competent IT team.
• Establish SOPs, policies, and governance frameworks for IT operations.

AI & Innovation Focus:

• Implement AI-based forecasting for order planning and vendor performance analysis.
• Introduce automated reporting dashboards for real-time business insights.
• Explore AI tools for quality inspection analytics and defect prediction.
• Drive process automation in documentation, compliance tracking, and communication workflows.
• Evaluate cloud-based and SaaS solutions suitable for buying house operations.

Requirements

Education

• Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Computer Science & Engineering
• Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Management Information System
• Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Information Systems
• Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Computer Science & Engineering

Experience

• 10 to 15 years
• The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Buying House, Garments, Textile

Additional Requirements

• Age 35 to 45 years
• At least 5 years in a senior leadership role within a garments buying house, apparel sourcing company, or related RMG sector.
• Proven experience in ERP implementation and digital transformation projects.
• Practical exposure to AI tools and automation systems will be highly preferred. 
• Strong understanding of garments buying house operations.
• Strategic thinker with strong decision-making capability.
• Excellent presentation and convincing skills to obtain management approvals.
• Strong leadership, vendor negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• High level of integrity and professionalism.
