1. Assist Fitter in daily workshop and site tasks under direct supervision.
2. Apply basic mathematical calculations for measurement, material estimation, and
quantity checks in the workplace.
3. Follow all OSH (Occupational Safety and Health) policies, identify hazards and risks,
and respond to workplace emergencies.
4. Perform housekeeping duties including sorting, arranging, and maintaining
cleanliness of work areas, tools, and equipment.
5. Select, use, and maintain hand tools and power tools safely; perform basic
preventive maintenance and proper storage.
6. Use measuring instruments to take and record accurate dimensional
measurements; clean and store instruments after use.
7. Perform oxy-acetylene cutting: set up equipment, prepare materials, execute
cutting operations safely.
8. Perform gas welding and brazing operations on prepared materials as directed by
supervisor.
9. Perform SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) bead runs and padding exercises; set
up welding machine and clean up after use.
10. Perform SMAW welding in 1F and 2F (flat and horizontal fillet) positions on assigned
workpieces.
11. Perform SMAW welding in 1G and 2G (flat and horizontal groove) positions in
accordance with WPS/supervisor instructions.
12. Identify job roles and responsibilities within the light engineering sector and observe
applicable OSH requirements.
13. Plan and execute assigned work activities in a systematic and spontaneous manner
as instructed.
14. Assist in fitting, aligning, and tacking structural components, plates, and profiles as
per drawings.
15. Read and interpret technical drawings, isometric sketches, and fit-up dimensions for
fabrication tasks.

16. Use measuring instruments (tapes, squares, levels, gauges) accurately for layout,
marking, and dimensional checks.
17. Perform plasma arc cutting to prepare materials to required dimensions prior to
fitting.
18. Carry out tack welding using SMAW in 3F, 4F, 3G, and 4G positions to secure
assembled components.
19. Participate in team discussions, follow written and verbal instructions, and maintain
professional workplace conduct.
20. Report fit-up discrepancies, dimensional deviations, and unsafe conditions to the
supervising fitter/engineer.
21. Maintain cleanliness of work area and proper storage of fitting tools, clamps, and
measuring equipment.
22. Perform fit-up, alignment, and assembly of pipe spools, structural members, and
fabricated components to drawing tolerances.
23. Mark out, measure, and cut materials; verify all dimensions against isometric and
GA drawings.
24. Set up and use alignment tools, levels, squares, and gauges; record and report
dimensional inspection results.
25. Carry out tack welding in all required positions to secure assemblies prior to final
welding.
26. Work independently and as a self-directed team member; coordinate with welders,
inspectors, and engineers.
27. Read and interpret construction drawings, P&IDs, isometrics, and weld maps for
pipe and structural fabrication.
28. Communicate workplace interactions in English; participate in technical meetings,
toolbox talks, and handover discussions.
29. Identify and resolve fit-up problems, misalignments, and tolerance issues in
consultation with the supervising engineer.
30. Maintain fit-up records, dimensional check sheets, and assembly traceability
documents per QA requirements.
31. Ensure workplace housekeeping, proper storage of materials and tooling, and
compliance with site OSH requirements.
