1. Junior welders and fabricators in daily workshop and site tasks under direct supervision.
2. Apply basic mathematical calculations for measurement, material estimation, and
quantity checks in the workplace.
3. Follow all OSH (Occupational Safety and Health) policies, identify hazards and risks, and
respond to workplace emergencies.
4. Perform housekeeping duties including sorting, arranging, and maintaining cleanliness of
work areas, tools, and equipment.
5. Select, use, and maintain hand tools and power tools safely; perform basic preventive
maintenance and proper storage.
6. Use measuring instruments to take and record accurate dimensional measurements;
clean and store instruments after use.
7. Perform oxy-acetylene cutting: set up equipment, prepare materials, execute cutting
operations safely.
8. Perform gas welding and brazing operations on prepared materials as directed by
supervisor.
9. Perform SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) bead runs and padding exercises; set up
welding machine and clean up after use.
10. Perform SMAW welding in 1F and 2F (flat and horizontal fillet) positions on assigned
workpieces.
11. Perform SMAW welding in 1G and 2G (flat and horizontal groove) positions in
accordance with WPS/supervisor instructions.
12. Identify job roles and responsibilities within the light engineering sector and observe
applicable OSH requirements.
13. Plan and execute assigned work activities in a systematic and spontaneous manner as
instructed.
14. Perform SMAW welding in 3F (vertical fillet) and 4F (overhead fillet) positions to
required quality standards.
15. Perform SMAW welding in 3G (vertical groove) and 4G (overhead groove) positions in
compliance with WPS.
16. Perform GMAW welding in 2F, 3F, 1G, 2G, and 3G positions; set up and operate GMAW
equipment correctly.

17. Perform plasma arc cutting: prepare materials, set up plasma machine, and execute
cutting operations.
18. Read and interpret welding symbols, joint configurations, and weld procedure
specifications (WPS).
19. Inspect own welds visually for defects including porosity, undercut, cracks, and
incomplete fusion.
20. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors; participate in workplace
discussions and meetings.
21. Maintain welding equipment and tools; report defects, malfunctions, or unsafe
conditions to supervisor.
22. Work as a productive team member, identify individual roles, and contribute to team
goals on site.
23. Adhere to professional ethics, workplace communication standards, and written/verbal
instruction protocols.
24. Perform SMAW pipe welding in 1G, 2G, 5G, 6G, and 6GR positions to applicable code
requirements.
25. Perform GMAW pipe welding in 1G and 5G positions; select correct wire, gas, and
parameters per WPS.
26. Interpret WPS, apply correct pre-heat and inter-pass temperatures, and maintain weld
records.
27. Operate and maintain SMAW and GMAW welding equipment; perform routine checks
before and after use.
28. Work independently and lead assigned welding tasks; resolve welding problems as a self-
directed team member.
29. Communicate in English in workplace settings; interpret documents, drawings, and
participate in technical meetings.
30. Ensure compliance with applicable welding standards (AWS D1.1, ASME IX, ISO 9606)
during production.
31. Coordinate with fitters, QC inspectors, and supervisors to ensure weld quality meets
specification requirements.
32. Complete weld traceability records, inspection tags, and handover documents per the
QA/QC system.
